FRUITTYVILLE FLORIDA

I once went to visit a dear friend in a local mental health facility, during the visiting hours I found myself in the company of great actors without a screen actors guild card each playing a different part unto themselves. I was inadvertently cast as a member of the cast without knowing. Only there and only there I found myself totally committed to this avant-garde theater in the loft around me.

I wanted to leave at intermission for a smoke but decided to stay on as there was too much going on that I liked past visiting hours. For the sane who came to visit their favorite actors, it was like an alcoholic anonymous meeting without the testimonials.

It was truly a scene out of an off-off off-broadway show from the stage of the human landscape from Fruittiville FL.

We all may sleep well tonight in comfort in the knowledge that there is a safety net for folks that have gotten off one stage onto another one called normal. what is normal?

My Earthy Shadow.

  My Earthy Shadow. I cast the longest shadow of myself against the setting sun on a bed of green grass, surrounded by flowers, and thorns, but there is no shelter for the homeless man. Well, this is the south far away from the freezing north, and I am happy to have mud on the torn soles of my shoes and I thank kind strangers for their alms. Love lost

Love Lost, in the last town before the forest. As I sat next to man's closest family member on earth the monkey, we both had the same idea, and without encroaching each other’s space we both sit in a cool mountain spring pool, and contemplated. This town was getting up, and preparing for the challenges of the day. Temple bells harkened the arrival of the new day, the street sweepers swept, the shopkeepers hawked their wares, and the housewife’s stroked the fires for the family breakfast. The holy men chanted and meditate that the day may go well. In the distant a very friendly volcano, growled and murmured as it has done for a millennium and thought it was the mouth piece for mother earth. The clouds travelled ever so slowly as they kissed the rim of the crater, and headed east by southeast, they harkened the coming of something wet, yes very wet, it was the coming of the monsoon season.
